Ketu South Election Task Force Inaugurated

Sub-committees for ballot box security, education and liaison, investigations, transport and personnel are also to be constituted within the KSMST.

The members were drawn from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), Police, Fire Service, Immigration, Electoral Commission of Ghana, Information Services Department, NCCE and Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Mr Bernard Amarble, the Municipal Chief Executive and Keta Divisional Police Commander Lord Obeng-Mensah inaugurated the Task Force. Mr Amarble appealed to the security agencies to be mindful of their peculiar environment that requires extra alertness to enable them to be on top of issues.

He said disgruntled persons may want to take advantage of the frontier to cause mischief.“We have a greater duty more serious than in other areas in view of the complexity of our security environment as a border area,” he said.

Mr Amarble said the Task Force should be fair but firm and to prevent any security lapse that could disturb the peace.
Mr Obeng-Mensah appealed to members of the Task Force and security personnel to be impartiality in their work keeping in mind the unity and interest of the country. “I hope you will not let the country down in your responsibilities,” he said.
