Tripartite Mechanism on UNAMID to meet in El Fasher on 23 June
EL FASHER (DARFUR), Sudan, June 20, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- All media are invited to the press stakeout that will follow the 13th meeting of the Tripartite Coordination Mechanism on the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) that will take place on Saturday 23 June 2012, at 17:00 hours, at UNAMID Headquarters (ARC Compound) in El Fasher, North Darfur.
The Tripartite Mechanism brings together senior representatives of the Government of the Sudan, the African Union and the United Nations to reinforce cooperation among them on their support to UNAMID?
The respective delegations will be headed by the Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rahmatalla Mohamed Osman, AU Commissioner for Peace and Security Ramtane Lamamra, UN Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous, and UNAMID Joint Special Representative Ibrahim Gambari.
The meeting, which will be held for the first time in Darfur, will focus on the operational issues of UNAMID.
