Create a platform for Rawlings to also tout Mahama’s credentials - Sammy Awuku tells NDC
According to Awuku, the NDC cannot stand the truth about the competence of the NPP flag-bearer hence its penchant to use vile propaganda against him.
Former President Kufuor has come under heavy criticisms for touting Nana Akufo-Addo as the best candidate among all the aspirants vying for the presidential slot.
Mr. Kufuor in an address at the 2nd Liberty Lecture organized by the Danquah Institute Thursday evening, said he can vouch for Nana Addo’s ability to take the country on a high pedestal if voted as president in the December 7 polls.
This did not go down well with some critics especially from the ruling party who claim the former president delivered a propaganda speech rather than a lecture.
On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Sammy Awuku said the NDC’s critique of former President Kufuor smacks of hypocrisy and double standards.
He explained that members of the NDC who not long ago eulogize Mr. Kufuor as a true statesman are now condemning him.
Sammy Awuku challenged the NDC to provide a similar platform to its founder, ex-president Jerry John Rawlings to also vouch for President John Mahama.
He was certain that the ruling party will not have the courage since he says Mr. Rawlings will expose the corrupt deals and incompetence of the President.
Awuku added that the December elections will be about personalities and track-record which he says the NPP flag-bearer stands tall.
He added that the NPP remains committed to restore hope to Ghanaians if voted to power.
Sammy Awuku believes Ghanaians will make the right choice at the polls.
“The people of Ghana will not make a mistake in 2012; they know how to choose between poverty and prosperity”.
