A.Y.O made it to the top 12 after giving a beautiful rendition of Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade’ which caught the hearts of the judges and the audience. The multitalented contestants who believed he had what it takes to emerge winner in the competition at the eviction show said that his eviction was a disappointment but he would be leaving the show with so much knowledge which he has acquired in the course of the competition.
“I am glad to be a part of this show because it has given me the exposure I need and also I have met the most wonderful people, contestants who are indeed blessed with such beautiful voices. I wish them all the best,” A.Y.O said.
On her part, Ibinabo Romeo, a Nigerian born radio presenter in Gambia, who performed Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I will survive’ at the Top 30 stage which pushed her up to the Top 12 expressed her gratitude to the sponsors of the show and the judges who gave her the opportunity to have a deeper insight of music.
The duo, after the eviction show gave a last rendition which drew so much applause from the audience. A.Y.O gave a beautiful rendition of James Blunt ‘You’re Beautiful’ which had the audience and one of the judges’ Charly Boy, in tears.
Manager Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, Idiare Atimomo, congratulated both contestants for their input in the show. As a means of encouraging them, Idiare told them that been evicted does not make them any less good but they had to develop themselves.
