Restructure GFA – Nyaho-Tamakloe
He told host Stephen Anti that restructuring the team 10 years ago saw the introduction of the likes of Michael Essien and John Mensah leading to the significant transformation of the black stars and their subsequent qualification for the 2006 World Cup.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, then the GFA Chairman, says this is one of the few moments of achievement he would not forget quickly.
Speaking on Joynews on Multitv, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe repeated the FA needs reorganisation to set the agenda to put the team on the right path to win international tournaments.
He said the culture of players exiting the team and holding it to ransom should not be encouraged and noted indiscipline amongst players is on the rise and needs to be stopped.
The patron of Accra Hearts of Oak is accredited for the discovery of the likes of Shamo Quaye, Joe Addae and Ablade Kumah who contributed immensely to the success of the Accra-based club.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, described as a man of many colors believes strongly his achievements rest on the back of the discipline he got from the Presbyterian schools he attended.
He comes from a long line of royals, a doctor by profession, soldier by training and a politician by affiliation.
Commissioned into the military in 1974 he said the vigorous military training is what has shaped his life.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe is remembered as a significant personality for the role he played in the Alliance for Social change’s ‘’kome preko’’ demonstration which is believed to be one of the structures that contributed to Ghana’s democratic process.
He criticized the manner in which the judgment debt saga is being handled and urged government and the opposition NPP to depolitisize the matter.
The founding NPP member said the Nana Addo- Bawumia combination for 2012 election is formidable and would lead the party to victory, but should the pair fail to win, that will be the end for Nana Addo’s Presidential ambition.
Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is married with six children, 4 girls and 2 boys.
