Let’s rededicate ourselves to nation building – Victor Smith
Ambassador Victor Smith who made the remark at the launch of centenary anniversary celebration of the St George Catholic Church in Koforidua, noted that the public servant unlike the politicians who have limited tenure of office, remains in office till he or she retires.
He therefore called on Ghanaians to curb cladding every national issue in political colors as it sometimes take away the enormity of the issue and distracts the course of finding solutions to them.
“I expect all public servants irrespective of their political ideologies and affiliations to put Ghana first in all their endeavors and also support every government in the initiation of their policies, so that in the end Ghana will develop as it should”. Mr Smith further added.
The Minister commended the Catholic Church for its immense contribution to the country’s development especially in education.
The Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana Most Rev Leon Kalenga who presided over the ceremony called on Christians to uphold the principles of Christianity and further commended the Catholic Church for the strides they have made in the Eastern Region during their hundred years in the area.
The Nuncio was later joined by the Catholic Bishop of Koforidua Most Rev Joseph Afrifah-Agyekum, the Eastern Regional Minister, the Deputy Minister for Environment Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Member of Parliament for new Juaben North Hackman Owusu Agyemang and other dignitaries to cut the tape for the opening of newly constructed centenary hall located on the church premises.
