No road blocks in the capital except on Friday – Information Ministry

Government has indicated there will be no road blocks in the capital today August 8 and tomorrow August 9 which are the days set aside for the laying in state of President John Atta Mills at the State Banquet Hall.

In a statement Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said some key roads will be blocked only on Friday when President Mills will be buried.

The statement is contrary to an earlier one put out by Director General of Police Operations, Commissioner of Police (COP) John Kudalor who had indicated that some major roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from today to Friday August 10 to allow for free movement of official motorcades and convoys to ensure order during the burial and funeral ceremony.
