For the newlyweds, it all seemed so perfect - a moment of happiness to treasure for the rest of their lives.
Until they saw the photograph, that is.
These are some hilarious examples of 'photobombing' where unexpected, and most certainly unwanted, guests pop into the frame at the most tender and loving stages of their big day.
Not the breast picture: This couple would not have been impressed after being 'photobombed' by a naked woman as they exchanged marriage vows on a beach
Making a splash: As this pair say 'I do', dozens of people go crashing into the waves behind, ruining their intimate moment
The cheek of it! The best man has other ideas for this shot of these newlyweds
Horsing around: A mare flashes a toothy grin behind this charming picture of the bride and bridesmaids
One couple would hardly have been delighted about looking back at a picture of them exchanging marriage vows on a beach to find a overweight naked woman strolling into the background.
A bride and her bridesmaids pose inadvertently in front of a horse which flashes a toothy grin, while others have their most intimate moments sabotaged by crazy face-pulling antics.
Infuriating for them, but most amusing for the rest of us.
Don't mind me: This shirtless gentleman is executing an Alfred Hitchcock-esque cameo appearance in this unfortunate couple's big day
Is that Bigfoot? A beachgoer strikes the classic Bigfoot pose in the background of this wedding. But the priest shows he's a true professional by continuing the blessing without missing a beat
A photographic intruder rides a horse statue on a fountain behind this couple (left), while someone gives the big thumbs-up as two pensioners celebrate their wedding anniversary (right)
Pouring water on their big day: This picture perfect moment has been somewhat dampened by the Speedo-wearing male coming out of the sea
The guy in the background doesn't seem too impressed with this couple's first kiss as a married couple (left), while another lowers the tone in a charming shot (right)
Peekaboo: The vicar gets caught in an unfortunate position in this picture of a newly married couple's first kiss
Peekaboo II: Perhaps marriage celebrants should be trained to get out of the way after they've done their job
Intentional... and accidental: The photobomber in the photo on the left is purposefully leaving his mark, while the coy woman on the right is doing all she can to be invisible (just stepping out of the shot would have worked)
