Son-in-law jailed for hitting brother-in-law with an axe
A Hwange man watched his mother in law bath with his wife in a river before grabbing his wife's clothes leaving her with nothing to wear.
Khangelani Nyoni aged 31 is said to have also struck his brother in law with an axe after he attempted to cool him down.
The court heard that last year in November, Nyoni accused his wife Ednah Nyathi of infidelity an accusation she denied.
She then left the homestead with her mother to take a bath by the river. Nyoni followed them and watched the two bath from a distance.
After some time, Nyoni drew closer and took her wife clothes saying they belong to him since he was the one who bought them.
Nyoni dragged his wife to the homestead, beating her along the way. Her brother, Shelton Nyathi heard her scream for help and thought of intervening.
However, that angered Nyoni who struck him with an axe.
Magistrate, Collet Ncube sentenced Nyoni to three months in jail, though he pleaded not guilty to assault.
