Gunmen open fire on a Bolga-bound bus killing one person

Unknown persons suspected to be armed robbers on Tuesday dawn shot at a Yutong passenger bus plying the Kumasi-Bolgatanga route, killing one man and injuring at least five people near Nasia in the Northern Region.
According to the driver, a report was made at the Bolgatanga police station when the bus reached its destination and the passenger who died was immediately taken to Bawku where he hails from, to be buried immediately according to Islamic beliefs.
The driver of the bus said the incident happened around 3:30am, Tuesday. He added that although the assailants never mounted a road block, they shot at the bus nine times resulting in the injuries and one casualty.
The injured have been admitted at the Walewale District Hospital.
