Trial Of Alfred Woyome, DSP Gifty Mawuenyegah Tehoda Resumes Today
The police officer at the Center of the cocaine turn soda saga, DSP Gifty Mawuenyegah Tehoda is today expected before the Circuit Court in Accra trying the matter.
The case has been adjourned on several occasions since the court began hearing it a few months back. The Police officer has been charged with abetment of crime in relation to narcotics. Her legal team has expressed frustrations on the number of adjournments the case has suffered so far.
The presiding judge, at the last sitting had threatened to strike out the case should the prosecution fail to present any witnesses today. The prosecution had earlier intimated it will subpoena some of the witnesses to court today.
In a related development, the trial of Alfred Agbesi Woyome, the business man at the center of the 51 million Ghana Cedis judgment debt saga continues at the high court today. The trial was adjourned after it began on Tuesday with the state presenting its first witness in court.
Mr. Alfred Woyome is charged with defrauding by false pretense and causing financial loss to the State to the tune of Gh¢ 51 million.
